AUJ’s new chapter: Sultan Baloch takes the mic as Havi goes solo

Pakistani rock band AUJ has officially announced Sultan Baloch as their new lead vocalist, marking a fresh chapter for the group that rose to fame after winning Pepsi Battle of the Bands in 2019.

The revelation comes at an intriguing time, as former AUJ frontman Abdur Rahman Sajid, known as Havi, simultaneously debuted his latest work "Na Milay” featuring Afifa Moin on Nescafe Basement’s sixth season.

Sultan Baloch, hailing from Hyderabad, is no stranger to the music scene. He clinched victory in a competition held at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi last year and has already made waves with his solo tracks "Simth,” "Qadam,” and "Panchi,” which have garnered praise for their vocal and lyrical depth. Interestingly, Sultan was once a vocal trainer to Havi, adding a layer of complexity to their now diverging musical paths.

AUJ’s journey began in 2008, founded by bassist Syed Hasnain Ali and guitarist Nasir Zaka. The band’s trajectory took a significant turn when Havi decided to pursue a solo career, leading to this current transition. As AUJ prepares for its revival with Sultan at the helm, and Havi continues to carve his individual niche, Karachi’s music enthusiasts find themselves at the crossroads of two promising musical narratives.

This coincidental dual debut has sparked interest among fans, who are now eagerly anticipating the future works of both AUJ with Sultan Baloch and Havi as a solo artist. The simultaneous releases highlight the dynamic nature of Pakistan’s music industry and the evolving careers of its talented artists.
