India triumphs over Australia in Champions Trophy semi-final

Virat Kohli hit 84 as India beat Australia by four wickets in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy in Dubai on Tuesday.

After choosing to bat, Australian captain Smith hit 73 and the left-handed Carey smashed 61 to put on the highest total at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the ongoing 50-over tournament.

Chasing 265 for victory, India lost Kohli in the closing overs but KL Rahul with an unbeaten 42 steered the team home with 11 balls to spare.

India will now face New Zealand or South Africa in the final on Sunday at the same venue.

The second semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played between New Zealand and South Africa in Lahore.

India have now won all four of their games in Champions Trophy 2025, hosted by Pakistan. The Indian team is playing in Dubai after they refused to tour Champions Trophy hosts Pakistan, citing advice from their government.
